We had a very happy first Christmas. Adam was spoiled rotten, particularly by his grandparents (no surprise there). Jason had eleven days off, which was wonderful. It just went so fast with all of the holiday gatherings and celebrations. It did give us several opportunities to put Adam in his little santa hat, which was fun. It was actually Taylor’s first Christmas too, so Christmas at the Trimpe house was extra special with the two of them.
Adam is continuing to get bigger and more fun by the day. It’s hard to believe he’s nearly two months already. The smiles and coos continue. He loves talking to the Christmas tree…so much so that we’ve actually left it up through this weekend. We are planning on taking it down today or tomorrow, but I’m going to relocate the lights to another stationary object, like a chair or the kegerator. They provide too much entertainment to put them away already.
Mornings are the most fun around here, with a very happy, well rested baby. He can still be a bit fussy in the evenings, so we having a standing date with the bath tub each evening. He absolutely loves bath time. He lays in there cooing away, kicking his little legs as fast as they’ll go. Actually, he likes having his diaper changed too…anything naked seems like a fantastic activity to Adam.
Adam has just recently discovered his tongue, so much of his waking hours are now spent with his tongue out, or sucking on anything that gets close to his mouth. His fists, blankets, our shoulders, and even his little tummy time mat are all regularly slobbered on. His tummy time is actually quite funny to watch. He spends a great deal of that time either resting his head on his arms or going face down to lick his little mat. We’re working on our neck strength, but it’s a slow process.
Not that there was ever any doubt, but his eyes are already brown. No surprise there! I’ll try to check back in next week after his two month appointment.
