We had Biggie’s 4 month check up last week. As predicted, he’s big. (Living up to his nickname.) He weighed in at 18lbs, 11 oz and is 27 inches long. He is off the charts for both height and weight. Our doctor, who loves big breast fed babies, said that if he were 7 months old he would be 50th percentile in height and weight. I found this extremely amusing. She also commented that my breast milk must be like cream! Ha. Having said that, it should be no surprise that I am already putting away many 3-6 month outfits. A few will last us a bit longer, but for the most part he’s in 6-9, or 6-12 months depending on the brand. Yikes!
He had his first cold this week. It was a mild one, but he was pathetic just the same. No loss of appetite, and he was still a happy little boy, but he had a lot of trouble sleeping. I ended up holding him all night a couple of nights to keep him propped up so he could breathe. He seems to be feeling a bit better, but now I’m coming down with it. Yuck.
We have had spring like weather this last week which has been fantastic. It’s been so nice to get out on walks with Biggie and Cooper. We even met Lisa and Taylor at the monon a couple of times. Bigs will be content in his stroller for maybe 30 minutes, then he will complain until I pull him out and put him in the bjorn. It must be quite a site to see me pushing an empty stroller with an 18 lb baby in a carrier and a 60lb dalmatian leading the charge.
No real changes. Bigs is great. He loves reaching for toys and getting them up to his mouth. He definitely has a higher concentration level when he is trying to get a certain object. He can be quite determined at times. He is mastering the back to forward roll, and now can often get his little arm out from underneath him on his own. He loves to stand and has strong little legs (I use the term little loosely…each leg obviously comes with several fat rolls!). He loves his jumperoo and often bounces from foot to foot while in it. The laughter is still coming easier. Jason likes to call him our “deep dish baby” and for some reason this phrase almost always gets him giggling.
He is a fun little guy, and dare I say maybe even an easy baby! Don’t get me wrong, he is clearly an only child and expects/demands high volumes of attention. But that being said, he is easy to please. He likes to eat, sleep and play. When I am over playing he is content to hang with me in the bjorn regardless of what I am doing…he just likes to be close to me. He is such a pro at eating now that he will often stop nursing to give me a big smile or to see what’s going on in the room (he’ll even quit nursing, turn to watch TV for a few seconds and then come back to nursing again). He’s a little rough, shoving things into his mouth with absolutely no grace, and he is strong. My best guess is that he is going to be all boy. I’m going to be learning the names of dinosaurs and 4 wheeled objects before I know it!
Our dear friends Ryan and Mandy Osborne welcomed a new baby girl this week. She is absolutely perfect. Here is a glimpse of the beautiful Sadie Jane. I have no doubt that Adam will be chasing her and her sister Audrey around in a couple of years (or maybe running from them!!).

WOW! I think Adam looks JUST like you in the top, jack in the box, picture. It's amazing how much they morph over time...I'm sure he will be back to being J's twin in no time :)
